Adults make Scouting possible. Whether you can help weekly, monthly, or occasionally, we have a role that fits your skills and availability.
1. Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone aged 18+ can volunteer. Roles include:
Section Leaders & Assistants
Occasional Helpers
Admin or Executive Committee roles
Event support
Skills/activity instructors
Behind-the-scenes support (digital, fundraising, maintenance, etc.)
You don't need any prior experience; complete training and support are provided.

Once we receive your enquiry, a volunteer will contact you for an informal chat about:
What roles might you enjoy
Your availability
Which local groups need support
What the next steps look like
3. What Happens After I Apply?
If you choose to volunteer, the following steps will be completed:
✔ Enhanced DBS Check
Required for all volunteers. Free of charge.
✔ Mandatory Safety & Safeguarding Training
Quick online modules to help you feel confident and supported.
✔ Induction
You’ll meet the team, visit sessions, and settle into your new role at your own pace.
4. Time Commitment
You choose the level of involvement:
Weekly evening meetings
Occasional event support
Committee/administrative roles
Flexible, behind-the-scenes options
Scouting is designed to fit around work, family, and life.
